G1440 designed a web site for Kooper’s Tavern – an iconic bar right on the water in the Fells Point area of downtown Baltimore, MD.
The design layout was heavily influenced by usability & web marketing concepts, and the mood of the design gives web site visitors the same warm feelings that every patron has when they walk in the door.
We designed this comp to meet the most critical needs of every user. For example, one of the first things you see in the top left corner is the address & phone number so that users accessing the site on a mobile device that simply need to get there are able to do that quickly.
There’s an easy to find email capture form in the top right to support ongoing email marketing – which is an effective way to deliver coupons, events, and other news to the community of users that call Kooper’s home.
We used a chalkboard on the bottom of the site, which matches the chalkboard that Kooper’s always has out front, and helps to reinforce the “local” bar feel.
The “Events & Blog” section constantly updates as Koopers adds new posts. Kooper’s is a hopping place – there’s always something fun going on in there, and a blog roll on the homepage gives users a quick snapshot of the specials, events, and other exciting things that Kooper’s has going on, while giving one-click access to more information for any specific event. We also made sure to leave room to call-out some of the other important business drivers – like hosting parties.
This design was done without Kooper’s input and might not reflect their vision, but G.1440’s vision is for a fully interactive web site design that is focused on bringing users value through the web site itself and by integrating some of the latest social media and email marketing.
